Closest Beach to Capital: Only 1hr 30mins from "International Airport Juan Santamaría". A scenic route taking you through the wild forests in Atenas, then cross over the Tarcoles bridge to find a bask of crocodiles beneath you.
Beach-town with best infrastructure: In recent years there has been a lot of investment in remodelling and new construction on the main road and there are no signs that this is slowing down. Storefronts varying from supermarkets to local designer brands are being remodelled with fresh, hip and modern looks.
Good schools close by: Ficus Tree School is a bilingual accredited English / Spanish school in Playa Hermosa, Jaco. Offers a full Montessori pre-school program and an elementary program up to 6th grade. The Hermosa Valley School is the only private school in the southern part of the Nicoya Peninsula with its own campus and sports facilities, including a semi-Olympic swimming pool, a performance center, a tennis court and green areas.
